Why this trip

There is a trade-off almost every group trip forces on you: you can be somewhere genuinely remote, or you can be somewhere genuinely nice. Bocas del Toro is the rare place that refuses to choose. You will wake in a private beachfront villa, walk out onto white sand with no hotel tower in sight, and spend the day in boats driven by men who have known these islands their entire lives. It is a Caribbean archipelago most people have never heard of — and that is precisely the point. Nobody on this trip will have done it before.

The highlights

7 days, 6 nights. Final order set around your dates.

  1. 01One night in Panama City, including the Miraflores Locks of the Panama Canal and an evening in the cobblestoned Casco Viejo old town
  2. 02Five nights in private beachfront villas at Red Frog Beach, Bocas del Toro, reached by a short flight over the rainforest
  3. 03Cayos Zapatillas — a protected national-park island, reached by boat, with nothing on it but sand, palms and reef
  4. 04Starfish Beach, where the water is so still that starfish gather in the shallows and lunch arrives from a hut on the sand
  5. 05Dolphin Bay and Monkey Island in a single day on the water — wild dolphins, not a marine park, and a sanctuary of capuchins you can hand-feed
  6. 06A zip-line tour through the jungle canopy
  7. 07Golf carts as the group's transport for the week, because there are barely any roads
  8. 08Breakfast and dinner together every single night as one group
  9. 09Beach volleyball, spike ball, slack lines and — when the water is glass — a cliff jump the locals keep quiet about
Home, closer than you left

Who it suits

Field-sales organisations taking their top producers somewhere they couldn't book themselves.

It suits a young, social, physically active group that wants water, sun and each other's company more than it wants nightlife or shopping. Best of all for a leadership team that wants real bonding time — the villa-and-golf-cart format puts everyone in the same place constantly. It is not the right choice for a group expecting a big-resort experience with a spa, a concierge and a dozen restaurants.

Mike's take on Panama — Bocas del Toro

This is the trip Tripio has run more than any other. It is as close to a guaranteed home run as any trip can be. It works because it is genuinely hard to replicate — the villas, the boats, the relationships, the fact that the whole group eats together every night. Groups come back from Bocas closer than they arrived. That is the entire point of an incentive trip, and this one delivers it more reliably than anything else in our catalogue.
